Anna and the King (1999)

In this fact-based 19th century tale, Anna Leonowens (Jodie Foster), an English widow with a young son, travels to Asia to tutor the king of Siam's 58 children. Brimming with prejudice, Anna believes the king (Chow Yun-Fat) is an uncivilized barbarian with little understanding of western sensibilities. Eventually, however, Anna and the king realize that, regardless of their drastically different views, east can meet west.
